Artist's Statement - Monika Wolf

Photography has always been a passion to me!

Started with an Asahi Pentax about 30 yrs ago... my goodness, where has time gone?... later on I used several Minoltas and various lenses. Well, changing to a digital cam was needed due to the costs when taking a lot of images LOL... this has been about 9yrs or so ago. Started shooting digital with the Kodak DC290 followed by a Cannon and later on by the Minolta Dimage A1... yep, I got back to Minolta again. hehe

Now I'm really happy with my DSLR, the Konica Minolta Dynax/Maxxum 5D and the three lenses which are a Konica Minolta AF DT 18-70mm, a Sigma APO DG 70-300mm and a Konica Minolta DG Marco 105mm.

Have had several of my shots published in newspapers or used for the front page of various websites.... for example a cover on a magazine by Puddinghouse Publications and the website of KLC Associates. I'm working for a truck farm and florist's shooting their monthly event for advertising brochures, their website and advertisment in newspapers. Have had several shootings, for example of the song group "CinqueCento" for their CD cover and for advertisement. At the moment I'm really excited of getting some shots published in a chapbook, a one woman show in Jung House, Columbus, OH and part of a group show at a college in Virginia.

While I was showing my work on various communities I was selected to be "Artist of the Month" in July 2004 on Renderosity, some images were chosen for "Image of the Week" on RDNA, one of my images got the Award "Best of User" on Terravisions and now I'm looking forward to being the next "Featured Artist" on Photo-Genesis.

Anyway... I'm always trying to improve my work... I'm still learning!
All my photographical work should be considered a "work in progress".
My goal is to produce images which are more than just "pretty".
With a little skill, a lot of luck and learning from my past hopefully I'll be able to do so one day.

Thanks... Monika
